Come celebrate our anniversary with a work in progress performance of La Peña – Ayer, Hoy y P’alante, an original suite of music about La Peña by Wayne Wallace with libretto by Aya de Leon and performed by the La Peña International Orchestra. This work received the prestigious Creative Work Fund grant and integrates La Peña oral histories into a contemporary musical suite about La Peña and the social and cultural movements that make up this community.

The La Peña International Orchestra features Wayne Wallace, Aya de León, Lichi Fuentes, Héctor Lugo, Josh Jones, Ayla Dávila, Donna Viscuso, Valerie Troutt and DJ Wonway Posibul. Come early and enjoy an oral history art installation: Creating Home Away from Home, an exhibit of items & objects by ex-political prisoners & exiles from Chile. Visual Poetry and Performance Festival

Visual Poetry is a form of experimental poetry in which the image and the plastic element are predominant.

Visual Poetry uses any technique and support that helps it develop as non verbal poetry and constitutes a whole new discipline in the field of experimentation.
