Senator concerned Interpol could arrest Americans under foreign laws

Denounces Obama’s continual bypassing of Congress

by Steve Watson
Infowars.com

Appearing on Infowars Nightly News Wednesday, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul said that he fears the international police agency Interpol has been granted too much authority to operate without oversight in the United States.

Paul suggested that new powers granted to Interpol by president Obama could see U.S. citizens arrested or even extradited by the agency under foreign laws.

“I’m kind of concerned about having an international police force in our country with the ability, maybe, to extradite US citizens and send them to another country.” The Senator said.

“Egypt, as you know over the last few months has been holding some American pro-Democracy workers in their country and they were going to try them on trumped up political charges. So a couple of months ago I said ‘you know what, we send two billion dollars to a country that treats us this way?’ So I tried to hold up their foreign aid, and as a consequence, part of what I was doing, they released our American citizens.”

“Then they came home and Secretary Clinton went and released their aid. I wrote her a letter and said she shouldn’t do it because these prosecutions were still ongoing.” The Senator said.

“They also made the U.S. taxpayer pay a five million dollar ransom for these Americans to come home, promising they would come back to stand trial. But this week we have learned that Egypt has asked Interpol for a national warrant, they have these red letter warrants, that can be used anywhere in the world.”

The Senator has also penned a letter to the president regarding the matter this week.

“Most people say ‘that could never happen inAmerica, we would never let that happen’, but Interpol is doing this in other countries.” Paul noted.

“Saudi Arabia ask Interpol to return a Saudi journalist from Malaysia, who had said something about Mohammed that they had found offensive, and they were going to accuse him of blasphemy.” The Senator added.

“Interpol picked him up in Malaysia and took him back to Saudi Arabia. He will now face the death penalty. But the scary thing is he is being picked up by Interpol. What kind of authority does Interpol have in the United States?”

The Senator pointed out that it was Obama who granted Interpol immunity to operate by way of Executive Order 12425, adding an amendment altering restrictions on other Governmental agencies to the limits the US Constitution.

Paul then spoke more generally regarding the administration increasingly attempting to bypass the Congress on important matters.

“One of the interactions in the last couple of weeks, it was very very telling,” said Paul, “was the interaction between Senator Sessions and Secretary Panetta in a committee, in which Panetta said that if we go to war, of course we’ll consult with the UN and get their approval. Sessions asked him ‘isn’t there a role here under the constitution for Congress?’ And Panetta basically just kept going on about NATO, the UN, and then he finally said ‘we would probably inform Congress of what we are doing, but never in there was there any understanding that they had to get approval or permission from Congress.”

When asked what could be done about such attempts to skirt Congress, the Senator cut straight to the point.

“I think the first thing is to try and stop him in his tracks.” Paul said.

“We tried very hard on the Libya motion. In fact, when he went to war in Libya we introduced his own words from 2007 when he ran for office and said that no president should unilaterally go to war without Congressional authority, which basically just re-states the Constitution.”

“And then he went around and did exactly the opposite when he became president. And this is not the first time a Democrat or a Republican has changed their mind once they became president, they believe in limitations on presidential power until they actually become president.”

The Senator spoke at length regarding other issues including moves to control and censor the internet, the backlash against the TSA, and his father’s ongoing campaign, and the rumors of him being nominated as a candidate for Vice President.

California State Grange supports GMO labeling for November ballot

by the El Reportero’s staff

Saturday thousands of volunteers will fan out state-wide to launch a petition drive to get the California Right to Know Genetically Engineered Food Act on the ballot in November. In the thick of the grass-roots initiative is the California State Grange, one of the leading partners in the effort.

The California State Grange has long supported the idea that GMOs (genetically modified organisms) in the food supply should be adequately tested and that consumers are entitled to know what’s in food they eat. The American people agree.

Yet despite overwhelming support for GMO labeling, for over a decade regulators and legislators at the national and state level have largely ignored public concerns. That’s why the Committee for the Right to Know is taking the issue directly to the voters of California. Now, with petitions in hand, over 1,500 volunteers will be gathering signatures at stores and farmers markets up and down the state.

“The bottom line is Californians have a right to know what’s in the food we eat and feed our children. It’s time to send a strong, direct message to those who govern us, whether they be agency or elected, that we want genetically engineered foods labeled,” says Pamm Larry, founder of the Committee For the Right to Know. Check the website, www.labelgmos.org for more information on this issue.

More than one million petitions delivered to Sen. Harry Reid’s office

Millions of citizens from every walk of life and every corner of the nation have signed petitions because they do not agree with this law

Washington, DC – A leading grassroots campaign to repeal ObamaCare today announced that it was delivering more than a million names of citizens who have signed petitions demanding repeal of the Health Care Act to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

Ken Hoagland, chairman of Restore America’s Voice Foundation said that the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act was, “an assault on the Constitution and on the consent of the governed.”

Hoagland’s group has been airing television ads nationally for more than a year asking citizens to communicate with their legislators about the law. The ads feature Mike Huckabee and more recently, Herman Cain.

“Millions of citizens from every walk of life and every corner of the nation have signed petitions because they do not agree with this law,” said Hoagland.

“Whatever is decided by the Supreme Court, we are asking Senators to obey the will of the people.”

“Even if with the best intentions, there are troubling and fundamental Constitutional questions now being argued before the Supreme Court about the reach of our federal government,” he said.

“ As troubling is the fact that this wide-ranging legislation should not have been enacted without strong support from our citizens who will be forced to live under its many provisions,” Hoagland said.

“This law has profound consequences for our national budget, individual healthcare choices and our struggling economy and does damage to each. Most Americans believe it reaches too far into our personal choices and will raise healthcare costs.”

Who really controls the world

Marvin J. RamirezMarvin J. Ramirez

FROM THE EDITOR: I found this historically fascinating article written by Dr. Mujahid Kamran, Who Really Controls the World, which in great detail takes close to those faceless characters who we never see or hear about, but who are the real players in the game of world control. And if you did not know who are those people – if we can call the people – who control our lives and destiny, fasten your seat belts because we are taking off to learn just that.

by Prof. Dr. Mujahid Kamran

New Dawn Magazine

Since I entered politics, I have chiefly had men’s views confided to me privately. Some of the biggest men in the United States, in the field of commerce and manufacture, are afraid of something. They know that there is a power somewhere so organized, so subtle, so watchful, so interlocked, so complete, so pervasive, that they better not speak above their breath when they speak in condemnation of it.

– Woodrow Wilson, 28th President of the United States (1856-1924) So you see, my dear Coningsby, that the world is governed by very different personages from what is imagined by those who are not behind the scenes.
– Benjamin Disraeli, British Prime Minister
(1804-1881). The advent of the industrial revolution, the invention of a banking system based on usury, and scientific and technological advancements during the past three centuries have had three major consequences.

These have made the incredible concentration of wealth in a few hands possible, have led to the construction of increasingly deadly weapons culminating in weapons of mass destruction, and have made it possible to mould the minds of vast populations by application of scientific techniques through the media and control of the educational system. The wealthiest families on planet earth call the shots in every major upheaval that they cause.

Their sphere of activity extends over the entire globe, and even beyond, their ambition and greed for wealth and power knows no bounds, and for them, most of mankind is garbage – “human garbage.” It is also their target to depopulate the globe and maintain a much lower population compared to what we have now.

It was Baron Nathan Mayer de Rothschild (1840-1915) who once said: “I care not what puppet is placed on the throne of England to rule the British Empire on which the sun never sets. The man that controls Britain’s money supply controls the British Empire, and I control the British money supply.” What was true of the British Empire is equally true of the US Empire, controlled remotely by the London based Elite through the Federal Reserve System. Judged by its consequences, the Federal Reserve System is the greatest con job in human history.

It is sad and painful that man’s most beautiful construction, and the source of most power and wealth on earth, viz. scientific knowledge – the most sublime, most powerful and most organized expression of man’s inherent gift of thought, wonder and awe – became a tool for subjugation of humanity, a very dangerous tool in the hands of a tiny group of men. These men “hire” the scientist and take away, as a matter of right, the power the scientist creates through his inventions. This power is then used for their own purposes, at immense human and material cost to mankind. The goal of this handful of men, the members of the wealthiest families on the planet, the Elite, is a New World Order, a One World Government, under their control.

Secrecy and anonymity is integral to the operations of the Elite as is absolute ruthlessness, deep deception and the most sordid spying and blackmail. The Elite pitches nations against each other, and aims at the destruction of religion and other traditional values, creates chaos, deliberately spreads poverty and misery, and then usurps power placing its stooges in place. These families “buy while the blood is still flowing in the streets” (Rothschild dictum). Wars, “revolutions” and assassinations are part of their tactics to destroy traditional civilisation and traditional religions (as in Soviet Russia), amass wealth and power, eliminate opponents, and proceed relentlessly towards their avowed goal, generation after generation. They operate through covert and overt societies and organisations.

Professor Carroll Quigley wrote: The powers of financial capitalism had another far reaching aim, nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands to be able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole. This system was to be controlled in a feudalist fashion by the central banks of the world acting in concert, by secret agreements, arrived at in private meetings and conferences.…

The growth of financial capitalism made possible a centralisation of world economic control and use of this power for the direct benefit of financiers and the indirect injury to all other economic groups.

Winston Churchill, who was eventually “bored by it all,” wrote around 1920: From the days of Spartacus-Weishaupt to those of Karl Marx, to those of Trotsky, Bela Kun, Rosa Luxembourg, and Emma Goldman, this world wide conspiracy for the overthrow of civilisation and reconstitution of society on the basis of arrested development, of envious malevolence and impossible equality, has been steadily growing. It played a definitely recognisable role in the tragedy of French Revolution.

It has been the mainspring of every subversive movement during the nineteenth century, and now at last, this band of extraordinary personalities from the underworld of the great cities of Europe and America have gripped the Russian people by the hair of their heads, and have become practically the undisputed masters of that enormous empire.

Foreclosure victim ends hunger strike

por Yashenka Baca

La activista de

Dona Zao Vieira concluyó una huelga de hambre de 16 días por la pérdida de su casa.Dona Zao Vieira ended a 16-day hunger strike.

Occupy Wall Street activist in San Francisco and Oakland, Dona Zao Vieira, ended her 16-day hunger strike, which started on March 21st to protest losing her home to what she calls “illegal and fraudulent mortgage practices” used by Wells Fargo Bank.

Vieira started actions after losing her home in Reno, Nevada due to a foreclosure by Wells Fargo, accused by her for scam. During 16 days Vieira carried out a vigil from Monday to Friday from 10:00 am to 1 pm.. outside Attorney General Kamala D. Harris’s office in Golden Gate Avenue 455, San Francisco.

“The goal of my hunger strike is not to ruin my health, but to highlight the urgency in which Attorney General Kamala, D. Harris, needs to act on behalf of all the homeowners. I am doing this for my family, to portray our seven year struggle against the systemic and intentional fraud that Wells Fargo perpetrated against us”, Vieira indicated in a press release. On day 9 of her hunger strike, Vieira decided to enter the Attorney General’s office, together with activist Beth Kean, to enquiry if there was an answer to the letter of explanation that she handed in at that office during her first day of fasting.

The activist reported that two staff from the Attorney General’s office came to talk to them. Vieira indicated that the staff showed concern about her health. The activist said that she was told that one of the attorneys at that office called Wells Fargo in December and requested them to talk to her about her foreclosure, but the bank didn’t show any interest.

According to Vieira, the main goal of her hunger strike was to know why or why not and when there would be a trial on Wells Fargo for offering mortgages with predatory practices. She noted that although the Attorney’s office has been reviewing mortgage issues for four years, Frances Grunder, the Attorney General’s Executive Assistant, explained that all the investigations are confidential until closed, so they couldn’t confirm whether Wells Fargo is one of the banks under investigation, or if any other of the so-called banks “too big to fall” are under scrutiny by the attorneys. Vieira insisted in calling the attention on the “corrupt financial and judicial system, under which the homeowners continue to suffer unfairly (…)

The people’s Attorney needs to act to judge the banks too big to fall. This is the only way to prevent future financial crises”, she concluded.

Ron Paul: FDA and Big Pharma are in bed together

by NaturalNews

Ron Paul makes a groundbreaking admission to the public on tape – that the FDA and Big Pharma are indeed “in bed together,” both building up their monopolies and only interested in making more money. The Republican presidential candidate confirms that the corrupt corporations are running the show, that the FDA is doing more harm than good and many other eye-opening admittances.

Ron Paul: It never works that way. You know, your safety and your drugs, for instance, it sounds like a reasonable thing. You want safety in your drugs. But the FDA and the drug companies are in bed together and they squeeze out competitions and build up their monopolies and they love government medicine because they make more money. The insurance companies and the drug companies, whether it’s Democrats or Republicans reforming the medical care system, these corporations run the show. You know, they support it, it’s because the government doesn’t take it over. It’s the corporations that end up taking over. So, it’s well intended but I think it always backfires on us and that the people we’re wanting to regulate end up writing their own regulations.

Reporter: So in that particular case would the reasonable alternative being no FDA?

Ron Paul: I think so because, I don’t think, I think they’ve done more harm than good because sometimes it might take them 25 years to allow a good drug to come onto the marketplace and the rules and regulations inhibits the options of the physician to use drugs for anything other than not approved by the FDA, which means it slows up research and the cost goes up and then when it’s approved by the FDA, guess what happens? If you’re on the inside track of that- I’m the FDA- today I approve this drug, tomorrow, their drug company’s value, their stock goes up fifty fold. Just because a bureaucrat made this decision. So, it’s a protection of the corporation is basically what it is. People weren’t dying from bad drugs before we had the FDA. I mean, it just didn’t happen. There’d be other agencies that would do this. There’d be no reason to assume that all of a sudden, the drug companies have it in their interest to give you a bad drug.

Reporter: Well, I’m not sure what fits in there and it’s hard to prove a negative, but are you assuming that there are no bad drugs.

Ron Paul: There’s plenty of bad drugs, and the FDA’s permitted a lot of them to get on the market, too. I mean bad drugs on the market now. Did you ever see a PDR? They’re about that big and about half of them are useless. But if it’s FDA approved- and what does the FDA do when it comes to alternative or natural products? The FDA and the drug industry keeps them off the market. A natural drug product, alternative health care, freedom of choice, it is obstructed from those making those free choices. So it’s there to protect the drug industry. They very often do exactly the opposite. I believe in free choice on picking alternative care rather than having it licensed through the FDA and these drug approvals. It delays, it costs so many- this is one reason why drug costs are so high, because it goes through years and years and years of litigation and getting approval, and that’s a source of making drug costs much higher in cost.

Reporter: So how did we get to this mess? Let’s just stick with FDA or go with Nuclear Regulatory Commission, but how is it that this body of burdensome regulations was allowed to develop? Is it parts of the private sector finding ways to protect themselves or what?

Ron Paul: I don’t know, I haven’t done a detailed history of exactly this but my assumption would be that it’d be a lot of well noted people saying, well, we need these regulations to help the people and protect the people. But those individuals and the companies that are involved immediately leap to it and take over and find out how they can keep out their competition. What industry it is, whether it’s the housing industry, housing insurance, it’s always to squeeze the little guy out and protect the big industries. Competition serves the competitor who is trying to compete with big industry, and I don’t like to see government protecting big industries and big corporations.

Why vote if the candidates are picked by the elite?

marvinmarvin

For most people, being able to vote in an election is the ultimate feeling of freedom one can achieve in a democratic system. “We choose our leaders, we are a free people, we have freedom of the press,” have been the mottos that give most of us pride as individual living in the U.S.

However, do we ever question the legitimacy of those claims, as to whether we really choose our leaders, are a free people and have freedom of the press?

The majority of the people have seen only two political parties through out their lives sharing the stronghold of power in this country: the Democratic and the Republican parties. These parties’ candidates are the only ones cheered in the mainstream press, and no one else– have you ever noticed that or wonder why?

The candidates of these two political parties are the only ones the media joke about, comment about, interview with, and place in the real political contest for public office. Have you ever wondered why they are the only ones?

I have learned that there is a Congressional resolution that says that only those political parties that hold 15 percent in the polls, are allowed in the presidential debates; consequently, the mainstream media flatly deny equal coverage time to those who are considered outside of the Democratic-Republican clique, which I would call the private electoral cartel. They are owned by private financial consortiums.

It’s not a secret that the same people fund both political parties – mainly by donating huge amounts of money for both parties campaigns through corporate disguises and more especially to the media, just like Don King, the boxing promoter who owns the champion and the contender, while the fans take the match more seriously. So, does Don King care who wins or loses? Of course not, he owns both sides of the controversy. And is the same to the owners of the two political parties.

This is exactly what happens within our political system, the elite or the aristocracy, those who don’t have a face but speak through their banks and corporations, are the one who own both sides of the game – or both political parties, pick and fund their candidates’ campaign, while the media serves as the cheerleader, steering people’s emotions upside-down, and always promising benefits and a better life to the people. The prize to the media: millions of dollars in exchange for their coverage, and their attack to those who are outside their clique.

In America isn’t a two party system. It’s one party with two factions. We must keep that in perspective now days, as Noam Chomsky once said. Therefore, when you vote, you’re voting for the clique’s choice, the one that will respond to the elite’s financial interests, and not of the electorate.

For this reason, I believe the whole election thing is a whole fraud, after you have voted and things don’t go well as promised, you can’t complain because you voted for that you got. That is why they push for people to vote, to legitimize their fraud. If you don’t believe me, look at the thousands of “laws” they pass every year. Most are to suck people’s wealth, and that is why most of us are poor, and the elite is always richer.

Demolishing due process

por Ron Paul
The Daily Bell

Dr. Ron PaulDr. Ron Paul

It is ironic but perhaps sadly appropriate that Attorney General Eric Holder would choose a law school, Northwestern University, to deliver a speech earlier this month in which he demolished what was left of the rule of law in America.

In what history likely will record as a turning point, Attorney General Holder bluntly explained that this administration believes it has the authority to use lethal force against Americans if the President determines them to be a threat to the nation. He tells us that this is not a violation of the due process requirements of our Constitution because the President himself embodies “due process” as he unilaterally determines who is to be targeted. As Holder said, “a careful and thorough executive branch review of the facts in a case amounts to ‘due process.’” That means that the administration believes it is the President himself who is to be the judge, jury, and executioner. As George Washington University Law Professor Jonathan Turley wrote of the Holder speech:

“All the Administration has said is that they closely and faithfully follow their own guidelines – even if their decisions are not subject to judicial review. The fact that they say those guidelines are based on notions of due process is meaningless. They are not a constitutional process of review.”

It is particularly bizarre to hear the logic of the administration claiming the right to target its citizens according to some secret selection process, when we justified our attacks against Iraq and Libya because their leaders supposedly were targeting their own citizens! We also now plan a covert war against Syria for the same reason.

I should make it perfectly clear that I believe any individual who is engaging in violence against this country or its citizens should be brought to justice. But as Attorney General Holder himself points out in the same speech, our civilian courts have a very good track record of trying and convicting individuals involved with terrorism against the United States. Our civilian court system, with the guarantee of real due process, judicial review and a fair trial, is our strength, not a weakness. It is not an impediment to be sidestepped in the push for convictions or assassinations but rather a process that guarantees that fundamental right, to be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

I am encouraged, however, that there appears to be the beginning of a backlash against the administration’s authoritarian claims. Just recently I did an interview with conservative radio talk show host Laura Ingraham who expressed grave concern over using these sorts of tactics against Americans using the supposed war on terror as justification. Sadly, many conservative leaders were silent when Republican President George W. Bush laid the groundwork for this administration’s lawlessness with the PATRIOT Act, warrantless wiretapping, indefinite detention without trial and other violations.

Similarly, as Professor Turley points out, “Democrats previously demanded the ‘torture memos’ of the Bush administration that revealed poor legal analysis by Judge Jay Bybee and Professor John Yoo to justify torture. Now, however, Democrats are largely silent in the face of a president claiming the right to unilaterally kill citizens.” The misuse of and disregard for our Constitution for partisan political gain is likely one reason the American public holds Congress in such low esteem. Now the stakes are much higher. Congress and the people should finally wake up!
