Adriana Castro
Colombian designer Adriana Castro is among the nominees for the Fashion Group International’s Rising Star Award in the category of Accessories.
Castro recently received the 2011 Miami Award in the Women’s Handbags category and also had the honor of opening the 3rd Bogota International Fashion Week.
Her accessories and handbags of exotic animal skins that include alligator, ostrich and python have been welcomed into the wardrobes of celebrities like Eva Longoria, Jennifer Lopez, Kim Kardashian, Heidi Klum and Sarah Jessica Parker.
Famed stylist Patricia Field chose five of her handbags to accessorize leading ladies in the movie “Sex and the City 2.”
Her designs have also been featured in Vogue.
This is the third straight year that Castro has received this nomination. On previous occasions the prestigious award went to such trendsetters as Joseph Altuzarra and Tory Burch.
Jerry Velasco Honored with Life Achievement Award at NALIP This Year
Jerry Velasco, actor, producer, businessman, social activist, arts advocate and currently a candidate for the El Monte City Council, has been chosen by the NALIP (National Association of Latino Independent Producers) Board of Directors to receive its: Life Achievement Award in Media Advocacy. Velasco will be honored on April 14, 2012 at NALIP’s gala awards at its annual conference to be held at the Universal Sheraton in Universal City, California.
He was selected to receive the NALIP Life Achievement Award because of his humanitarian work and his lifelong commitment to social justice, labor and workers’ rights, which insured an improved quality of life and many benefits for workers and their families, not only in the entertainment industry, but in the U. S. labor movement in general.
Phenomenal success in the U.S. and Chile
For Prince Royce Prince Royce’s phenomenal success continues to impress in the United States and Latin America. After an astonishing performance at the Viña del Mar Music Festival where he earned top honors on Sunday, February 26th, and being nominated for 12 Latin Billboard Awards two days later; the 22-year-old artist closed the week this past Saturday, March 3rd with a completely SOLD OUT concert at the Movistar Arena in Santiago, Chile to the euphoric delight of over 12,000 fans.

El “Milagro” de Norka, en su versión pop se ubica en la posicion número 1 en los registros de nuevos ingresos y en 5to lugar en la lista de salsa, en su natal Venezuela. Asi mismo el tema asciende con fuerza en los Estados Unidos situandose en la posición número 16, en el chart de Media Base en su version tropical. Su primer sencillo sigue sonando, mientras la artista se prepara para una gira de clubs y festivales en Estados Unidos, que se iniciara en el mes de mayo en la costa oeste de los Estados Unidos.
