Los Pleneros de la 21
Get ready to enjoy the legendary rhythms of Puerto Rico in hands of Los Pleneros de la 21. After more than 26 years on stage, the band founded by Juan Gutiérrez continues to spread its musical passion among the peoples of the world and to serve as a school for a new generation of Latinos. The band has toured over more than two hundred cities and has become the affirmation of Puerto Rican culture in important neighborhoods, such as Harlem or New York City. Its beats, that combine Jazz, Hip Hop or Blues, perfectly reflect the taste at the purest heart of Puerto Rico. The band’s performance is framed on the series Camino de la Cultura. Los Pleneros de la 21 will be accompanied by other two bands: La Mixta Criolla and Grupo Aguacero.
The event will take place Saturday, July 23 starting at 8 p.m. The chosen venue is the Brava Theater, at 2781, 24th Street, San Francisco. Tickets are $18 in advance and $20 at the door.
T h i r d f e s t i v a l o f Peruvian food in SF
San Francisco’s Civic Center will again serve as setting for the third festival of Peruvian food in the city. In 2009, it took place in Roccapulco and its enormous success caused the festival to be moved to the center of the city, particularly to the Civic Center, where 20 restaurants were participating.
This year, this number will further increase, reaching 24 restaurants. The organization has emphasized that this will be a festival for the whole family, and will include games for children, two stages playing all kinds of music and soccer coaches. This is a festival that will gather the public for the taste in their palates. July 24 at San Francisco’s Civic Center.

Event for agricultural justice and healthy food
Join the Bay Area community to welcome the workers’ coalition from Immokalee to California. This is an opportunity to know this innovative agricultural work organization and its successful campaign for healthy food.
